Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It was very disappointing that the opening speeches of the 2026 legislative session on Jan. 12 by the Democratic House Speaker, and the following day, by Gov. Bob Ferguson, struck a divisive tone as they pointed blame to the other Washington (D.C.) for our state’s affordability crisis. The real story is that years of one-party control by Democrats in Olympia—not actions by the federal government—have driven higher taxes, increased costs, and growing financial pressure on working families.
It is time for honest leadership, fiscal accountability, and a renewed focus on solutions that make Washington more affordable for the people of the 14th District and across the state.
