Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Thank you to all who participated in our town hall meetings earlier this week in Yakima and Toppenish. We had very good attendance at both events.

Please read on for details.

Town hall meetings address citizen concerns

Even though the 60-day legislative session ended on March 12, many citizens across the 14th District remain engaged and interested in the issues before the Legislature this year. Topics discussed at the town halls included government spending, taxes, affordability, health care, insurance, and the Climate Commitment Act.

Rep. Deb Manjarrez and I appreciate the input from these valuable town hall meetings, as the discussions will help us going forward.

Many thanks to our 15th District team, Rep. Chris Corry and Rep. Jeremie Dufault, who joined us at our Yakima town hall.

Our 2026 Session Review report is now out

The 2026 legislative session may have been only 60 days long, but a lot happened within those two short months in Olympia. In our Manjarrez-Mendoza Report, Rep. Deb Manjarrez and I reflect on the accomplishments and disappointments of the session. This included our fight against a new state income tax, information about two citizen initiatives that will go to the ballot in November, and our individual accomplishments, from my heritage apple orchard registry bill, House Bill 2525, to legislation that will allow a ninth judge to be added to the Yakima County Superior Court. We also brought home more than $13 million for projects in the 14th District.

Our newsletter should be in mailboxes across the district this week. If you didn’t receive one, I invite you to read it here.

Another great resource to learn more about my work and priorities is my website, RepresentativeGloriaMendoza.com. Here you can read my news releases, watch my videos, listen to my radio reports, catch up on my email updates, see all my sponsored bills, and find my contact information.

Election-year restrictions

I’m heading into an election-year cycle, which means my legislative communications will be subject to an “election-year freeze” beginning Monday, May 4, and continuing until late November. That means I will not be allowed to provide unsolicited outreach communications to you, such as this email update, during the freeze. In addition, my website will be “frozen” during that time. However, all the information now posted will remain.

It’s important to note that the freeze does not restrict me from responding to your emails, phone calls, and messages. I’m also not restricted from having in-person meetings with you, so please continue to reach out to me as you usually would.

My email address is gloria.mendoza@leg.wa.gov. You will find my other contact information below.

Thank you for the honor of serving and representing you and our neighbors across the 14th District.

Sincerely,

Gloria Mendoza
